Scrolling hijacked my creativity
It started with curiosity.
Just one reel.
Just one clever post.
Just one story that led to another.
And before I knew it, I was no longer creating, I was just consuming.
My thoughts were drowned in trending audios and reels.
My ideas buried beneath dopamine hits from scrolling.
Instagram reels.
YouTube shorts.
LinkedIn posts disguised as wisdom.
All promising inspiration,
but quietly stealing attention.
The invention of the endless scroll bar wasn’t a feature, it was a trapdoor.
It kept consuming my time, silencing the creativity.
I miss the boredom.
The stillness.
The awkward empty spaces where imagination once lived.
Now I am clawing my way back starting by uninstalling instagram
Back to the page, the pen, the pause.
To reclaim the creativity that scrolling hijacked.
