Does a Vision Board work?

I always had this question on my mind, and I decided to give it a try.

I love reading personal growth books, articles and try new things. Some books open a completely new dimension. It is mind blowing how a book, or an idea can impact you.

Since childhood, I used to journal. I am not regular at it, but I at least try to journal all my achievements or the happy moments. The benefit of happy journaling is that when you read it, all you feel is gratitude towards how wonderful life has been.

Journaling and Vision Board are contrary ideas. One is about documenting what you have achieved or what has already occurred, and the other is about how you want it to happen or what you want to achieve. I was a bit sceptical to create a vision board, it felt a bit overboard, not sure why. I gave it a try in 2023, and I realised I achieved most of the things I had planned. At the start of 2024, I decided to give it a serious thought. So, I made a list of all the things I wanted and created a visual vision board using Canva.com. Then, I printed it out and hung it inside my office cupboard.

I rarely revisited the vision board. Once in a while, if I need something from the cupboard, that’s when I glance at it.

Going a bit off track here, but want to give some context. Recently, I went to Bali with my husband, and you can read about it in my article “Are you a Traveller or a Tourist?”. It's just been two days since I am back in the Netherlands, settling in our routine. I woke up early…
